2. EXT. TRAIN TOILET – EARLY MORNING
Vikas takes out paper from a rolled toilet paper container. He tears a feet long paper, folds it half way and keeps it on something. He repeats it four times. Then he happily looks at the toilet. Relatively moving rail line and small stones are visible from the open end of the toilet. Vikas sees the covered toilet seat and comfortably sits on it. He feels the jerking and slowly moves on the toilet seat along with the running train. Train keeps running at full speed in the early morning.
3. EXT. VILLAGE RAILWAY STATION – MORNING
Vikas gets down from the train to a village station with his luggage and a big suitcase. He sees the station name written on a board in a local language unknown to him. He searches and finds the English version on the main board – DHARMA PALLI STATION. He gets down from the train.
He comes near the gate of the station to enter into the village. He has to show his ID proof and the invitation letter in village authority (panchayet) letterhead and answer couple of questions to get approval to enter into the village. He comes out from the main gate of the station with great difficulty holding his baggage.
While entering inside of the village boundary, he noticed one old man sitting at the end of the platform inside the village boundary. He looks like a bit mad. By seeing him, it’s easy to make out that he has no way to go anywhere, and he is having a pathetic life. He suddenly becomes sad and helpless. He starts panicking and feeling pain below his abdomen. He holds tightly a branch of a tree and moves his thighs in pain. He puts his head on the tree and tries to control his pain by spreading his thighs. After a while he moves out of that place and sits on the place where he was sitting early. Vikas realizes that he came near the tree to urinate. Vikas surprisingly notices that not even a single person is paying attention to that old man.
He comes near to the rickshaws which are standing out of the main gate, and starts asking for the ride. He is unable to talk to them because they don’t understand English.
Vikas finds a lonely driver on the other side of the gate. The driver tilted his rickshaw taking support from a broken wall and rotating the paddle by his left hand. His right hand is touching the centre of the rickshaw wheel. From far end it looks like a chakra rotating on his right hand (like sudarshan chakra in lord Krishna’s hand).
He reaches to the rickshaw driver and asks in broken English (assuming he won’t understand the language like other drivers) whether he is willing to take him to Shivaraj’s house.
VIKAS
Hello,
Dharma-palli, Shivaraj’s house!
Will you take me?
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
Yes sir,
Shiva sir’s house!
I’ll surely help you to reach your destination.
VIKAS
Hmmm…
The driver smiles and makes his vehicle ready to start. He takes Vikas’s luggage and properly keeps them in the vehicle. He requests Vikas to sit on the rickshaw in between the luggage.
Vikas somehow manages to sit on the rickshaw along with his luggage. The uncomforting situation is visible on his face. Driver understands it, smiles quietly and starts his rickshaw.
4. EXT. VILLAGE ROAD - MORNING
Vikas starts his journey in the rickshaw towards his paying guest house. Vikas is uncomfortably sitting on the trolley rickshaw with his laptop bag, water bottle along with his big suitcase and another couple of luggage.
The rickshaw is slowly moving on the typical village road leaving beautiful scenes on both sides of the road. However Vikas’s attention doesn’t grab the beauties of:
-
Rice field
-
Cultivation of paan leaves
-
plants
-
Ponds
-
temples
-
huts
-
Kids playing on the yard in the sunny afternoon
-
Pottery making
-
Idol making with mud and bamboos
His corrupted mind can only be focussed on the scenes:
-
Women cleaning utensils with mud in small pond
-
Lady walking after bath
-
Young girls playing on ground
Vikas is trying to get through his friend, Swajal, in his mobile whenever his eyes are not getting feasted by village girls’ beauty. Vikas is getting impatient by the poor network connection of his mobile tower, but he is becoming more irritated by the jerking of the rickshaw due the poor and pathetic road condition. He is way more irritated because of Swajal for not receiving his calls. After a while Swajal receives the call.
VIKAS
What the hell!
Where have you been?
SWAJAL
Sorry man.
Gone out to take bath.
VIKAS
It’s so difficult to get the signal,
And you were busy taking bath!
Hold on…
‘Gone out to take bath’ means?
SWAJAL
'Gone out’ means, to the pond.
A lavish bath in the deep blue pond!
VIKAS
Holy shit!
What happened to you?
Pond!
I cannot imagine, you’re in the pond
with so many people,
bathing, spiting, sweating, peeing,
Dark hairy men,
women with monthly instalment,
Washing, cleaning,
Duck, cow, dog,
Shit…
Aaaaaaa…
You’re crazy or what?
SWAJAL
No man, it’s not that bad!
It’s pretty decent.
And fun too!
VIKAS
What fun? Got some girl in there, huh?
Oh, this fucking network!
Cannot hear you.
Hello, hello…
Shit…
How will I survive here?
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
Villagers are not much bothered about
mobile phone!
People are happy here with face to face communication,
Otherwise, post card!
VIKAS (continue trying his mobile)
Hmmm…
And, what is the point of being bothered
When connectivity is so poor!
It’s bad that villagers are not getting chance
To utilize technological innovations!
Government should do something about it.
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
Are you talking to your…
VIKAS (after connecting in his mobile)
Finally!
How are you surviving here?
Don’t say that people don’t watch TV too!
SWAJAL
I won’t say that.
I do watch!
There are couple of proud houses with TV.
But no cable, only national channel.
VIKAS
Don’t tell me.
Then I’m dead meat!
How do you pass your time?
Don’t say you see patients, day and night.
SWAJAL
No, not at all.
You’ll learn enjoying radio, tape recorder
And the village life.
It’s different.
Believe me, it’s actually cool.
VIKAS
What cool?
Hello, hello,
Shit... again gone.
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
Who is he?
Your friend?
VIKAS
Yeah, Swajal.
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
Who?
Doctor-Swajal?
VIKAS
You know him?
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
I know everyone.
He lives in naba-palli, right?
Last week we visited him
for bhanu thakur’s younger son!
VIKAS
Why Swajal?
You don’t have any doctor nearby?
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
Yes, we do have, near that crossing.
But his time was not up,
So he got time to go to Doctor Swajal!
His karma…
VIKAS
Is this hospital so bad?
RICKSHAW-DRIVER (signs to agree)
-
VIKAS
You talk about karma and all…
Spiritual, huh?
RICKSHAW-DRIVER (smiles)
Every path lead to me!
That is…
VIKAS (after getting call)
Hello?
What a fantastic place!
Do you actually do puja and prayer?
SWAJAL
For what?
VIKAS
For network! What else?
SWAJAL
Ha…ha…ha…
VIKAS
Don’t laugh!
I’m pissed off,,,
SWAJAL
Arrey, there is only one tower in modhya-gram,
It can serve only this much!
And more than a mobile connectivity,
we need to address health issues…
VIKAS
After becoming doctor,
Swajal has come back to his own village!
So no more health problem.
SWAJAL
No man,
Couple of MBBS doctors…
Cannot help!
Our village is self-sufficient in other aspects,
Only the medical issues…
You are joining on Monday, right?
Go and see the hospital,
Here no one cares about politically biased rules & policies.
We have our own standards…
VIKAS
Why?
Hey, are you making me afraid or what?
Hello… Hey, hey?
chaay!!
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
You look to me a bit impatient!
VIKAS
Yeah, I know.
This network…
Villages are in such a poor condition.
It’s all because of the corruption!
Businessman to Government official,
Everyone is so fucking corrupted!
Sorry, you were telling something...
RICKSHAW-DRIVER (smiles)
Corruption?
Don’t you think you are also corrupted?
In some aspects of your life,
in some of your desires,
in your materialistic perceptions?
Lord Krishna said in Bhagvat Gita…
VIKAS
I know…
Bhagvat Gita?
Do your work and don’t think about rewards, huh?
It’s all non-sense!
Without having an expectation
How can one be motivated to perform a task?
It’s just all big big spiritual talks,
Nothing practical!
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
Spiritual things are really not so big,
They are rather simple!
Each of us has to pay for our own Karma.
We need to be selfless in our actions.
We should enjoy doing things for the sake of God,
Not for ourselves!
VIKAS
Hey Hey, hold on!
Wait a sec…
Rickshaw driver stops the vehicle and gets down to the road from his rickshaw driver seat. He looks towards Vikas.
VIKAS (smile)
No no, not that wait,
You keep going…
I wanted you to stop your heavy heavy dialogs.
Don’t know where from you’ve learnt all these!
Anyways,
tell me one thing, in Mahabharata,
when Pandava fought against Kauravas,
their own relatives,
It was for the kingdom, right?
Where was then the selfless act?
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
The fight in Mahabharata describes
about the internal conflicts,
it’s about the fight between good and bad,
inside you,
inside everyone.
It guides us to learn
How to defeat our internal bad wills,
Remove our selfish acts,
To reveal the goodness within.
We all are here for some purpose,
For some learning.
VIKAS
If you could tell me so many things,
Tell me this also,
I’m here for what purpose?
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
See that house, that one,
Yes, that’s Shiva sir’s house.
That house, this pond, the whole village…
You’ll soon know why you’ve come here.
Your destiny will let you know the reason.
You’ll know your destiny.
Remember, whatever path you choose,
It’ll take you to God,
But an honest path will be quicker and easier.
Time will show you everything…
VIKAS
Ohh, finally reached!
Seriously, time only shows.
It took so much of time.
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
You’ve to be little bit more patient,
I cannot enter in this side road with my rickshaw,
It’s too narrow.
We’ve to take the road beside the pond.
VIKAS
Take whichever road suits you.
(to self)
It’s not increasing the meter reading,
Unlike a rented Taxi!
They are entering into a small village. Most of the huts are made of mud and the roof is of mud tiles or dry rice plants. Two village girls are playing ‘kit-kit’ with a small round shaped tiles portion inside the drawn lines on the ground. Vikas’s eyes get attracted towards the elderly girl’s naked legs under her half folded saree.
Shiva’s house is better than other surrounding houses. One big mud room with tiles roof and attached another cement room.
Rickshaw-driver stops his vehicle in front of Shiva’s house. He honks his air horn couple of times. The house boundary is defined by a wall made of small plants and the back side of the house is full of mango, jackfruit, coconut trees. Vikas looks here and there, and then gets down from the rickshaw. He yawns, stretches his hands and legs. Then goes inside with his laptop bag. Rickshaw-driver smiles understanding Vikas’s expectation, and goes inside carrying his suitcase and other luggage.
Shiva and Tulsi come out hearing the Rickshaw horn. Shiva is wearing a loose shirt-pant and Tulsi in a decent cotton shaari. Vikas gives an intense look towards Tulsi.
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
Shiva’sir, here is our doctor.
VIKAS
To the destination…
RICKSHAW-DRIVER (smiles)
destiny!
SHIVA (smiles)
Welcome Vikas.
I guess you had trouble in the mud road!
VIKAS (shaking hand)
No no, Shivaraj Sir.
It was okay.
Vikas and Shiva continue chatting, Shiva talks to Vikas with intimacy. Shiva introduces the village part by part showing different directions to Vikas.
Rickshaw-driver, after consulting Tulsi, keeps all of Vikas’s suitcase and luggage in the cement room.
During all these activities, Tulsi looks at Vikas couple of times in a doubt and wonder mixed eye. Vikas’s corrupted and dirty eyes don’t miss chance to look at Tulsi’s village beauty for couple of times carefully. They smiles after an eye contact.
Vikas takes out a twenty rupee note from his wallet and give to the Rickshaw-driver after he comes out from the cement room. Rickshaw-driver happily takes the note and leaves.
Shiva goes to Tulsi and asks her about Vikas’s tiffin.
VIKAS
Thank you!
RICKSHAW-DRIVER (smiles)
Remember me for your next journey,
I’ll definitely be there for you.
VIKAS (knotting head)
Surely.
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
In village, whenever someone nearer and dearer comes,
We visit them!
And you didn’t get chance to meet your friend,
Because of this mobile!
So tell me, how does the technology bring people closer?
Bye Shiva’sir.
Rickshaw-driver leaves the place with a gentle smile. He turns his rickshaw and vanishes from Vikas’s eyes leaving Vikas little bit wondered and doubtful.
5. INT. VIKAS’S ROOM – AFTERNOON
Swajal is in Vikas’s room. Both are chatting along with a common friend Tarun connected in mobile phone speaker. Vikas’s mobile phone is being kept carefully on the window shelf with the support of a cigarette pack and a match box. As per Vikas’s experimental calculation, this particular position catches good network for his mobile!
SWAJAL
Forget that, but you must see
how Vikas has kept his mobile.
What an angle!
VIKAS
Anything to get the network!
But you know, if God takes away something,
He gives something better in compensation.
SWAJAL
Careful man,
You are referring God too much from yesterday.
VIKAS
Credit goes to that spiritual fucker!
TARUN
S P I R I T U A L FUCKER?
What an adjective!
Spiritual Fucker!
VIKAS
Yeah Tarun, the rickshaw driver!
He has burnt my ass yesterday
while coming here from station.
So much of…
TARUN
Unhnnn… don’t get diverted.
Let us first know
what better compensation you’ve got!
Sexy bird, huh?
SWAJAL
Sexy bird!
Careful folks, this is dharma-palli.
TARUN
You keep quiet Swajal…
Sweet water in seashore?
VIKAS (looking up, indicating God)
Everything is his MAYA only.
I can clearly see my karma,
in village dharma!
Vikas and Tarun start laughing together. Swajal gets little irritated and tries to warn Vikas.
SWAJAL
Look man,
This is not a typical village!
This is dharma-palli.
Your dirty theory
“elam, dekhalom, jay karlom”
won’t work here!
TARUN
What? What? Say it again?
SWAJAL
What?
“I came, I saw, and I conquered”
What do we say in Bengali?
“elam, dekhalam, jay karlom” only, right?
VIKAS (smiles)
Yes it’s “Elam, dekhlam, jay korlam”.
TARUN (smiles)
But Swajal, this is little bit modified by Vikas –
I came, I saw, I did,
And then I left!
SWAJAL
Whatever, make fun of me!
But, be careful doctor…
Ask anyone about Mukku?
TARUN
Stop it grandfather!
Why do you spread so much of negative energy?
Poor Vikas didn’t even do anything yet,
And you’ve started throwing warnings!
Is thinking crime in your dharma-palli?
VIKAS (smiles)
You know Tarun, it’s actually a crime!
As per our spiritual fucker,
the rickshaw-baba,
“Thought is like a small seed,
It can become a huge tree in future.
Karma refers not only to the physical deeds,
But also to the mental activities.”
TARUN
Holy shit,
Why God, why?
Why you’ve given us the mind to
Think all the dirty things!
VIKAS (smiles)
Rickshaw-baba has enlightened me on that too.
We need to offer to God whatever we do.
“Everything to be enjoyed for the sake of God,
Not for ourselves.”
TARUN (smiles)
Oh… then no problem.
You first offer the bird to God,
And then enjoy.
But most importantly,
don’t enjoy for yourself,
enjoy for the sake of God.
SWAJAL
You guys are real craps.
Don’t know how God will help you!
You don’t know about this village, Vikas.
People living here,
Our culture, education,
Respect for women.
Nothing you know!
You don’t want to listen to me, fine.
But, ask anyone about Mukku, that old man…
VIKAS
Grandfather, you are very small
to understand God’s act!
God will let me know about Mukku…
TARUN
When the time comes…
VIKAS
And you know,
he has already helped me by…
TARUN
shhh… we are getting diverted.
Tell more about the bird.
VIKAS
She is total cool –
No risk, only gain!
TARUN
Tell, tell…
How come no risk?
VIKAS
“How come no risk”…
SWAJAL / TARUN (together, in different tone)
Fuck you…
VIKAS
Ok, okay!
She is a “boudi”.
So no risk.
Total sexy!
SWAJAL
“Baudi” means?
TARUN
Idiot!
“Boudi” means sister-in-law.
Elder brother’s wife.
VIKAS
For me, the meaning is little bit more literal.
“Bou” means wife and
“Di” means sister.
So, it’s wife cum sister.
Who can care for me as a sister,
And I can care for her as a wife!
TARUN
Wow…
What a meaningful meaning!
SWAJAL
Yeah,
You abnormal dogs!
VIKAS
On top of that, her husband is a drunken coward.
Boudi is already showing interest…
SWAJAL
Don’t know what interest you are talking about,
But be aware of the culture of dharma-palli,
Otherwise…
TARUN
Again negative energy!
Beat him. Seriously,
Keep beating him till he shuts his mouth up and
Tell me in detail about the boudi.
At that moment, Tulsi slowly comes towards Vikas’s room from the yard. She stops in front of the door. Vikas, after seeing her coming, quickly turns towards Swajal facing his back towards the door. Swajal slowly turns towards Tulsi.
VIKAS
Dear friends,
Here you go…
My ultimate target.
Bou cum didi,
my sexy ‘bou-di’.
SWAJAL
Stop it man,
She’ll understand!
VIKAS
She won’t!
How the hell she’ll understand english?
Don’t speak, just enjoy her beauty!
TARUN
Ohhh… what about me?
VIKAS
You are gonna miss it Tarun,
But I’ll give live commentary,
You, … visualize!
TARUN (artificial sadness)
Okaay… Go ahead.
VIKAS
Look at her beautiful eyes like Aara,
rosy cheeks,
big big… ear rings
you dirty mind,
look at her naughty black hair,
you can imagine her whole body by seeing her belly cleverly hidden under folds of her dress (sharee),
you must have goose bumps,
if you would have seen her once!
TARUN
Only goose bumps?
SWAJAL
Stop it, sadists!
And say something to her.
Swajal smiles and turns towards Vikas; Vikas turns towards the door and reacts as if he sees Tulsi just now. Tulsi cannot see the complete room and doesn’t guess who else are there inside. She looks at Vikas with affection.
TULSI
Vikas,
Shall I get bada or some bhajji with tea?
VIKAS
No no boudi,
Only tea is good.
SWAJAL
boudi, I don’t take tea.
TULSI (smiles)
Ohh…ok.
I’ll get 2 cups of tea and one milk.
Do you take sugar?
SWAJAL
Yeah, just one spoon.
but…
VIKAS
Why two tea?
You’ll have with us?
TULSI
You are total three, right?
TARUN (smiles)
Yes boudi, we are three.
TULSI (towards Tarun)
Then?
You won’t take tea?
TARUN
Given a chance, I’ll have coffee…
VIKAS
Tarun is making fun,
He’s talking over phone,
You’re hearing the mobile speaker!
TULSI (looking inside room)
You guys are…
Phone talking?
It’s so real!
Tulsi, being shy, smiles and leave the room. All three starts laughing madly as soon Tulsi vanishes from their eye sight.
SWAJAL
Who is this Aara?
VIKAS
You don’t know Aara!
Aishwariya’s daughter.
TARUN
She was looking so hot against Akshay.
VIKAS
Aara against Akshay?
Seriously, age is no bar in bolywood!
VIKAS (at Swajal)
Leave Aara and tell me baby!
Wanna drink milk?
TARUN
Sweetie puitie kid,
you haven’t yet stop drinking milk?
SWAJAL
Don’t tell me,
Whenever I say no to tea,
people think that Doctor will have milk.
Initially I tried to explain,
But later I gave up.
Don’t you guys feel bad?
VIKAS
Feel bad? For what?
SWAJAL
For being so insane.
For talking nonsense about such an innocent lady!
TARUN
Innocent, huh?
Vikas, listen to me,
Don’t let go waste her youth.
God intentionally bought you here…
God will punish you,
If you don’t understand his signs!
VIKAS (smiles)
Yeah buddy,
Even the rickshaw-baba was telling the same,
“you are here for a reason”.
No matter what I do,
But I cannot commit this crime!
I cannot let her beauty gets waste like this.
SWAJAL
God will help you,
insane dogs!
6. INT. IN FRONT OF VIKAS’S ROOM – EVENING
Two neighbourhood kids are playing in the yard of Shiva’s house. One kid is climbing up on the tree near the main gate, hanging and moving on the branches, and jumping from the tree to save himself. The other kid is trying to touch him from the ground to make him out from the game.
Vikas, in formal dress with leather bag in hand, is coming back from office. He is in deep thinking and looking little tired. He meets Shiva before entering into his room. Shiva, wearing a folded white sharee (dhoti) and a shirt, walking in the yard. One cannot make out seeing him that he’s already in a moderate drunken state. But that becomes evident when he speaks.
Tulsi, in a colourful cotton sharee, is brooming the yard with a broom made of sticks of coconut leaves. One end of her sharee is tightly stuck inside her sharee near waist. She smiles at Vikas before leaving the place completing the brooming.
SHIVA
Hello Vikas,
Coming from office?
VIKAS
Yea Shivaraj sir.
SHIVA
Hmmm…
Time doesn’t permit us to talk much!
How’s your work and office people?
VIKAS
Ok, not bad.
It’s actually good.
You know,
I’m surprised to see the integrity and honesty level
in this village.
It’s unbelievable!
I thought…
SHIVA
Corruption?
Are you indicating corruption?
No, we are not corrupted young man.
You won’t see any kind of dishonesty
In dharma-palli!
We won’t let our mentality gets rotten
by any means.
Tulsi brings a mug full of water and cow dung in her hand. She keeps the cow dung on the ground and sprinkles some water on it. Then she spreads the cow dung using her right hand plum after mixing with water. She makes a beautiful round shape on the ground.
Vikas’s eye suddenly falls on Tulsi’s blouse halfway visible in between her waist and hand. He moves his eyes from there.
VIKAS
Yeah, sometime, you know,
We become the victim of the situation.
Tulsi finishes making the round using the cow dung and water, then moves out of the place.
One mother hen finds out grains/foods for her kids near the boundary wall and training her kids how to find food. A pet dog, lazily lying on the ground, is staring at the hen kids shamelessly.
SHIVA
Only if, you want to be the victim.
We try to safeguard ourselves,
by accusing the situation.
We try to be...
(after throwing his hands on air to clean)
…clean!
(looking at the kids playing on the tree)
Prasad, Gopal, enough,
It’s getting dark.
Go home now.
Prasad and Mutthu slowly get down from the tree, stops their play and go back towards their home exiting from the main gate.
What to say, general education is so incapable!
Humanity, morality, honesty
- these are nowhere,
In the syllabus!
Education system, in this village, is different!
Character development – is a big thing for us.
VIKAS
That’s so true!
Education system…
SHIVA
You vote for some uneducated, corrupted businessmen,
So called politicians,
to be your leader!
What else can happen in this country!
VIKAS
I think there should be some mandatory
educational qualification
for politicians!
SHIVA
But, education means academic certificate, right?
What about honesty, morality?
What about respect for each other?
As it’s important for people
to have faith on their leaders and system,
Similarly the leaders and system
need to have respect for people.
Two kids are walking on the road carrying another kid on their hands (like a ‘palki’ i.e. palanquin).
That is what we have in our village.
We didn’t let our system be corrupted,
by showing sympathy or humanity
to people like Mukku.
And we will not…
Tulsi, wearing a silk shaaree (without blouse), comes towards the main gate to show the light of the lamp (prodip) in her hand. She goes back towards her house after showing the lamp light to the gate and Vikas’s room. She looks at them while going back.
TULSI
What discussion is going on?
Just now Vikas came from office,
Let him get fresh!
SHIVA (smile)
His name is Vikas,
Not Vikas!
TULSI (shy)
For me he is Vikas only!
You go,
Otherwise, your brother…
SHIVA (smile)
Yes, you go,
And get fresh.
Otherwise, I’ll keep talking to you…
Vikas smiles and goes to his room. Tulsi goes towards her house and Shiva goes towards the gate.
Couple of girls, wives and kids are filling water in their pots and buckets from the tube well near the crossing. Shiva slowly walks towards the crossing.
7. INT. TULSI’S ROOM – MORNING
Aunty, in the next house, sitting on a wooden stool (pidi) on their yard, is cleaning the rice using a flat plat made of bamboo (kulo).
Vikas walks in front of that house and enters from the main gate of his paying guest house. Vikas comes back from his home town. He gets milk powder packet for Tulsi.
He keeps the bag in his room and goes towards Tulsi’r room with the powder milk packet. He stops in front of the almost closed door and knocks the door. Tulsi, wearing her sharee little high and stucking one end of her sharee near her waist, is cleaning the walls and roof with a long handle broom standing on a tall wooden stool.
Vikas find her cleaning the walls with her broom with both hands, as soon he opens the door. Vikas’s thirsty eyes don’t stop staring at Tulsi’s naked legs till her knees, her waist, and her blouse. Tulsi quickly tries to cover her waist with one end of her sharee which was stucking near her waist. In hurry, she cannot control her balance and falls down from the stool. Vikas’s reflex helps him to immediately move towards Tulsi and catches her on his arms. Vikas holds her tightly by his arms. There is no gap between them. Only the broom is placed in between their faces and the milk packet is stuck in the broom sticks.
TULSI
Won’t you leave me?
VIKAS
If I say no?
TULSI
Your brother will come now.
VIKAS
Not so soon,
Gone for a haircut!
TULSI
Oh…
It’s a planned entry!
When did you come back from your native?
What’s that?
Vikas picks up the powder milk packet from the broom sticks, throws the broom out in style, gives the packet in Tulsi’s hand, and then runs his index finger and thumb on her lips and cheeks.
VIKAS
Got it for you, from Kolkata!
Milk Powder…
TULSI
What powder? milk?
VIKAS
Last time you couldn’t make tea
Because your milk gone bad!
TULSI
Cow milk!
VIKAS
Yeah, obviously.
So, thought…
TULSI
Umm hmmm…
Why so much of care?
Tulsi suddenly bites on Vikas’s chest and moves out from his arms with a naughty smile.
Tulsi somehow manages to get down from the stool and goes very near to Vikas out of her misbalance.
TULSI (shy smile)
Aaiyo amma...
When did you come back from your native?
What’s that?
VIKAS (with hesitation)
Got it for you, I mean, from Kolkata!
Milk Powder…
TULSI
What powder? milk?
VIKAS
Last time you couldn’t make tea
Because your, I mean, the milk gone bad!
So, thought…
One spoon powder,
Mix in a cup of hot water,
Like original milk…
he..he..
Tulsi smiles to convey thanks and takes the packet to look at it closely.
TULSI
Please sit.
I’ll make tea for you,
With this milk!
VIKAS
No no attige,
I’ve to go and get ready for office.
TULSI
Ok, you get ready.
I’ll serve lunch for you.
And listen, call me boudi!
Vikas looks back towards Tulsi after listening her last word and goes toward his room with a smile expressing agreement. Tulsi continues looking at Vikas with a mild smile on her face.
8. EXT. VILLAGE MELA – AFTERNOON
Tulsi comes to the mela in the neighbour village with Vikas. They happily walk around together in the mela and enjoy the foods, gambling, rides, etc.
Vikas wins a teddy bear in a gambling play and gifts it to Tulsi. Tulsi accepts the teddy bear with great joy.
Vikas, in spite of being busy with Tulsi, doesn’t forget to look around to watch other girls in the mela.
Vikas intentionally and forcefully makes Tulsi agree to take ride in the huge circular ride (nagordola). As soon the ride takes it full speed and comes down from its highest point, Tulsi gets so afraid and uncomfortable, that she tightly holds Vikas’s arm. Vikas continues enjoying the pleasure of the touch of her body in the ride.
9. INT. VIKAS’S ROOM – EVENING
Vikas walks with Swajal till the main gate and talks for a while. One kid is playing on the road with a bicycle tire and a wooden stick; he is running the tire by hitting it with the stick. One street hawker is walking on the road with his rickshaw van loaded with plastic jewelleries, toys, utensils, etc. Vikas and Swajal talks for a while near the gate till gets dark in the evening.
SWAJAL
… around 70 to 80 years back.
Villagers became so violent,
That,
they cut his…
HAWKER (in local language)
Bangle, toys, mug, …
SWAJAL
I heard,
even political pressure could not help.
They forced him to stay in dharma-palli!
He had left with no choice but
living a shameful pathetic life
in this village.
…as an example!
Initially I thought,
you are just making fun!
I don’t know
what really you think about her,
But think before you commit
something nonsense.
VIKAS
Don’t worry man.
(whispering)
You would have seen
how she was holding my arm
yesterday in the ride!
I can smell her intension
from my experience.
(whispering)
And hey, you're her husband only
send her with me!
SWAJAL (whispers in anger)
I know you are a big boy,
My advices are no good for you!
But remember one thing…
VIKAS
Yeah, yeah, take it easy,
I’ll remember the culture and value thing.
And you remember my words,
She will be in my magic trap soon…
SWAJAL
You proud brat!
Come out of your psychological disorder,
Otherwise…
Don’t make me forget that you’re my friend.
VIKAS (satire smile)
Stay cool Swajal,
Take care…
Swajal, with anger, goes out of sight driving his motorcycle.
Vikas comes back to his room. Vikas, in the bright evening light, looks at Tulsi’s house before entering into his room. He becomes upset after not seeing her around and stops in front of his half way closed door. As soon he enters into his room, someone pulls him inside and pushes the door to close it.
The door couldn’t get closed fully and a thin line between door slabs make the inside little bit visible. Vikas, closely stands with Tulsi supporting the door, is visible from the thin door gap.
TULSI (artificial anger)
What you were telling to your friend?
VIKAS
Me? To Swajal?
About what?
TULSI
About what?
About me.
VIKAS
About you?
When?
TULSI
When?
On the other day…
VIKAS
No, nothing!
TULSI
Nothing?
What do you think?
I didn’t understand?
VIKAS (nervous)
No, I mean…
I was simply telling…
TULSI
Simply telling?
“I cannot let her beauty gets waste like this.”
right?
Don’t think that I didn’t listen!
VIKAS
Then why do you pretend not to …
Vikas pulls Tulsi very close to him holding her hands. Tulsi gets closer to him and the door think gap increases little bit more. Vikas squeezes her in his arms very tightly. Tulsi’r lips are almost touching his lips. Vikas kisses on Tulsi’s lips. Tulsi artificially tries to get rid of Vikas.
TULSI
What are you doing!
Leave me alone…
Vikas holds her tightly and kisses her passionately on her lips, cheeks, neck. Tulsi slowly gets involved, closes her eyes, holds his arms tightly, then tightly holds his back and shoulder with her fingers and nails. Tulsi’s breathings get deeper! Vikas drags her on his bed and places himself on Tulsi. Vikas and Tulsi’s legs start getting involved in erotic game and make movement. Suddenly Vikas falls down from his bed on the floor.
10. INT. VIKAS’S ROOM – EVENING
Vikas comes out from his dream of afternoon sleep after falling down from bed. Excited Vikas falls down on the floor. He moves his hand in the evening darkness to find out the bed switch comes out from the main switch board with an extension wire hanging on the wall. He switches on the light.
Vikas, with sleepy eyes, in unprepared condition, seating on the floor, looks at the closed door. Then he, with uncomfort, looks at his wet bermuda pant and expresses his irritation.
He hears Tulsi’s voice asking for help. He gets up and opens the door immediately. Then he stops, looks at his pant with irritation, wears a loose jeans pant on top of his bermuda, and goes out from his room in hurry.
11. INT. SHIVA’S HOUSE YARD / ROOM - EVENING
Shiva, in a complete drunken state and uncontrolled way, walks towards the yard and falls down near Vikas’s room. Tulsi comes out from the kitchen hearing the sound. She tries to pull Shiva to make him stand. After failing to do so, she calls Vikas.
TULSI
Vikas, O Vikas,
Please come out…
Come quickly please…
Vikas wears jeans pant on top of his wet bermuda and comes out of his room. He runs towards Shiva after seeing him fallen down on the yard. Vikas and Tulsi hold Shiva to get him up and bring him into their bed room. Then they make him lie down on the bed. Shiva in drunken state and Tulsi out of care and anger continue speaking while they bring Shiva into their bed room.
TULSI
Why do you drink?
Am I not having the pain?
Shall I start drinking too?
SHIVA
Do you think I want to?
(showing his left chest)
Something happens here…
Now you’ve come!
So, no worries for me.
VIKAS
Sir, please give me your hand,
Yeah, yeah, now get up…
TULSI
Ohh… hold me,
Let’s go to the room…
SHIVA
Ahh… lets go, my brother…
Let’s go home…
TULSI
You don’t talk …
SHIVA
Talk? Not getting time only to talk,
With my brother!
VIKAS
Yeah… let’s go,
Will talk in there…
SHIVA
You know what?
I, only, want to …
Vikas and Tulsi literally pull him on his bed and make him lie down. Shiva’s voice slows down, becomes less understandable. He slowly gets asleep. Vikas continues standing there in an uncomfortable situation. Tulsi looks at Shiva in a very caring and hopeless way for a while. Then, she talks to Vikas.
TULSI
He was never been like this.
Nobody in our village is like this,
Cannot be!
Last to last year, during dussehra festival…
He was coming back home from hostel,
by train.
Deva, devraj,
his younger brother.
Train was heavily crowded,
Before entering into the station,
Sleeps his hold…
Falls down …
His head hits on a rock,
You couldn’t see how his head…
Tears come out from Tulsi’s eyes. She cannot control herself and cries out. She weeps for a while holding part of her saree on mouth. Then she, after wiping her tears with her saree, controls herself and continues describing to Vikas in a less attentive mental state.
TULSI
Our hospital couldn’t operate him.
He arranged to take Deva to city…
Before even reaching to the clinic,
All over…
After that only…
He started all these!
Otherwise, in our village,
Drinking is enjoyed only during festival time.
A young healthy boy goes to hostel,
And doesn’t come back ever after!
It hurts, heart breaks…
He was my borther-in-law,
But more than a sibling.
That was Deva’s room.
My husband was not at all interested
To rent it out,
But after seeing you…
Whenever he was worried,
Deva used to say,
“Don’t take tension Shivaraj sir,
I’m here to take it”
The very first day you talked to him,
The same word came out from your mouth!
It felt as if Deva
is standing in front of us…
That’s why it became easy for you
to enter into our village.
Please don’t mind,
We probably are troubling you,
Involving you into all these…
VIKAS
No no, boudi…
I’m sorry for…
I mean…
Don’t put me in guilt
saying all these…
Vikas moves a bit towards the window and accidentally touches the glass kept on the window shelf. Glass falls down on the floor and breaks (signifies breaking his ego).
Tulsi nodes her head and moves her eyes to indicate not to worry about the broken glass. Shiva moves a bit and turns towards them. He turns his head slightly and asks Vikas…
SHIVA
Hey Vikas, you?
Sit…
Your sister-in-law is so emotional!
She makes me worries…
VIKAS (in agony)
Don’t take tension Shivaraj sir,
I’m here...
Vikash, in tremendous mental agony, slowly moves backward to reach near the door. He looks at Tulsi once. Then turns and goes out. Tulsi, with tears in her eyes, smiles looking at Vikas.
12. EXT. BANK OF THE POND – EVENING
(Note: parallel edit with previous scene)
Vikas walks towards the pond. He, in the evening mild orange sunset light, sees a young lady taking evening bath in the pond. Her towel (gamcha) is kept neatly on the ground near the water.
He goes near to the bank (ghat) of the pond and slowly enters into the water. He stands inside the pond water for a long time. His neck is under the water. He looks at the sky and closes his eyes. Slowly he sinks his head inside the water.
He takes out his head after a while from the far end of the pond and slowly swims back towards the bank of the pond.
He notices the young lady is not there in the bank, but surprisingly the rickshaw driver is cleaning himself into the pond water. Vikas sees the same towel (gamcha) in the same place. He looks at the rickshaw driver while nearing towards the bank and starts talking to him.
VIKAS
When did you come here?
I didn’t notice you earlier!
RICKSHAW-DRIVER (smiles)
You’ll always find me around!
VIKAS
Seriously, when did you come?
One lady was here before!
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
Which lady?
How does she look like?
VIKAS
I don’t know,
I didn’t notice her like that way!
Rickshaw drives smiles looking at him. His smile indicates happiness for being able to avoid looking at the lady. Vikas too understands the meaning of his smile. He comes near bank and stands on the pond ground where water level touches his chest.
VIKAS
Is it always necessary to learn
from experience,
from mistakes?
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
Not necessarily.
We can learn from others.
Observing other’s mistakes.
You’ve seen Mukku…
VIKAS
Yeah I got to know about Mukku from Swajal.
How did it happen in this village?
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
It was for us.
We had to understand
how greed and ego can ruin a person.
We had to learn
to protect the system gifted by our ancestors.
We had to know
that we must prevent bad karmas,
before committing it.
That incident became a learning for us,
For our future generations!
VIKAS
But why that lady had to suffer
for Mukku’s greed
and for other’s learning?
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
We all are paying for our karmas.
Her suffering was for her karmas!
VIKAS
But who are the villagers to punish Mukku?
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
It was the act of God.
Villagers were the medium only!
VIKAS
You are a spiritual person!
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
We all have spiritual understanding within us.
It’s up to us
how much we want to utilize
and gain further.
VIKAS
Who are you?
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
Does your question point towards my
social status and educational qualification?
VIKAS
I mean…
How do you know so much?
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
You listen, you read, you discuss;
And, you learn!
Ok, I’ve to leave now.
They are waiting for me…
He points his eyes towards the cows having grass near the pond, gets out of the water and wipes his body with the tower (gamcha) kept on the ground. He looks towards the cows and starts walking towards them.
Vikas gets out too from the water looks at him. He pampers the cows and starts walking. Cows follow him. He tells Vikas without looking at him while leaving the place.
RICKSHAW-DRIVER
It’s not important who I am.
We all possess God,
Entirely and completely,
Within each of us.
We are bonded into the oneness,
Everything is unitive.
Individualism is the trick of MAYA.
Whatever you see, you feel,
are the evidence and existence of God.
He leaves the place, but his words continue echoing in Vikas’s mind. He continues looking at the rickshaw driver and his cows.
Vikas , in a deep thought, starts remembering his childhood and past memories to find the answer "who am I?".
[ FLASHBACK ]
[ YEAR 2013 ]
1)INT.BED ROOM - AFTERNOON
Beside dressing table, Vinita is sitting on a bean bag with her diary and a pen. She is sliding the pen in between her fingers. Pen ball goes near to the dairy page, touches the page and comes up without writing anything. Only one ink dot is visible on the page. Vinita looks angry and disturbed. She thinks for sometime, then hesitantly writes incomplete sentence
LIFE IS ALL ABOUT SOMEONE’S PAST…
and continues looking into it emotionlessly.
2) INT. BED ROOM - AFTERNOON
Vinita is sitting in her bed room on the same bean bag. She has the diary and pen in her hand. Vikas slowly enters into her room with an unhappy look and sits on the other bean bag near Vinita.
VINITA
Baby, come here.
Come to Mom!
Vinita spreads her hands and takes Vikas on her laps.
VINITA
Where were you till now?
VIKAS
Where else?
In my room!
VINITA
And what was my baby doing
In his room?
VIKAS (after a silence)
Mom, shall I tell you something?
VINITA
Why something, My Vikash baby will tell me 100 things.
VIKAS
Papa told you in the morning, first thing after coming back from shopping.
You didn’t listen!
VINITA
Did he? I couldn’t hear.
I must have, if it was louder!
VIKAS
Mom, Papa told…
But you didn’t listen.
You don’t listen anything when you’re angry!
You didn’t even listen to me.
Vikas starts crying.
3) INT. DRAWING ROOM - MORNING
Akash comes back to home after shopping. He has couple of bags full of vegetables, groceries, milks, curds, eggs, puja flower, etc hanging in his fingers. He enters into the drawing room by opening the door pushing by his left leg. He keeps the bags inside the kitchen and tells to his wife Vinita
AKASH
Vini, couple of eggs may be cracked.
Please take out the eggs first,
Or else everything will be dirty!
The drawing room TV was on and some music channel was running songs in high volume. Vinita was busy preparing apple shake in her mixi.
She doesn't concentrate on his talk and continues making the shake. Akash comes out of the kitchen and sits on the sofa in front of the TV. He changes the channel and starts watching a movie. His son Vikas comes out from kitchen and sits with Akash in front of him on sofa and starts watching TV. Akash gently starts running his fingers in Vikas's hair.
VIKAS
Papa, you know my friend Anik,
He was telling me to join him for watching cartoon!
Shall I go Papa?
AKASH
Ok. But not now…
Now Viku will read news paper with Papa!
VIKAS (smiles)
Yes papa…
Vikas gets up and brings the newspaper. While coming back towards Akash, he starts reading the front page tile of the article about the gay IPC 377.
“SC Makes Homosexuality A Crime Again”
He comes to Akash and sits near him along with the newspaper.
VIKAS
What’s SC, Papa?
AKASH
Supreme Court.
VIKAS
and homosexuality?
AKASH
This is adult topic.
Lets read sports news…
VIKAS
Why adult?
News paper for everyone, isn’t it!
AKASH
Hmmm…
Then you only tell…
VIKAS
I know sexuality,
It means gender.
But what is homo?
Human being?
Homo sapiens?
AKASH (smile)
Well said,
Something like that!
VIKAS
Then why crime?
AKASH
Homosexuality means love between two same gender people.
VIKAS
Why so,
How come love will be crime, Papa?
I love Anik, is that a crime then?
AKASH
You two are young now.
This law is for adults!
VIKAS
Ok suppose, Anik and I,
Grown up,
And still love each other.
then?
4) EXT. COLLEGE CAMPUS - DAY
Two young college students (gay couple) are walking in college campus. They are walking holding each other’s hand. They are happily talking and heading towards their class.
5) INT. DRAWING ROOM - MORNING
AKASH
You two are good friends,
Definitely will love each other.
Homosexuality is a bit different relation.
VIKAS
Different means?
AKASH
Suppose, Your Mom and I,
Living together as a family.
similarly, if two boy,
or two girl…
VIKAS
If they live together?
In the same house?
6) INT. SMALL ROOM - MORNING
Same two young college students (gay couple). Living in a small room. One is preparing breakfast and the other one is neatly folding their dresses and under garments.
Both finishes their work and have breakfast together in the small table near the window. They show care and compassionate love for each other through their actions while having breakfast.
7) INT. DRAWING ROOM - MORNING
VIKAS
But what’s wrong in that?
AKASH
Nothing wrong!
Loving someone,
Lovingly living with someone,
Cannot be wrong ever.
VIKAS
then?
Why is supreme court telling crime?
AKASH
Living together or loving is not crime, papa.
Homosexuality is a crime.
Attraction between two same gender people is a crime!
VIKAS
But I’ve seen in TV,
Ataction is always between two opposite gender people!
AKASH
It’s not ataction.
It’s attraction.
VIKAS
Attraction.
AKASH
Correct,
But some people get attracted to the same gender.
VIKAS
But that’s against nature,
Isn’t it?
AKASH
No, that’s not true.
It’s written in our Rig-ved
“Vikriti Evam Prakriti”
that means,
Whatever we think unnatural,
that too are natural.
Everything is God’s own creation.
VIKAS
Is Supreme Court then bigger than God, papa?
AKASH (smile)
It’s not about bigger or smaller, dear.
It’s about sacrificing individual need
For the sake of social need!
VIKAS
ok papa, suppose,
two girls or two boys,
stays together.
As they want,
Like wife-wife or husband-husband,
But don’t disturb anyone…
Then what’s the problem with society?
8) INT. SMALL ROOM – EARLY MORNING
Same two young college students (gay couple). Living in a small room. Sleep under same quilt. Get up from the bed together.
Both of them having same gay tattoo (pink triangle inside a heart shape) permanently printed on their back side shoulder.
They smile at each other and start daily activities. One opens the window and the other one goes towards the door.
9) INT. DRAWING ROOM - MORNING
AKASH (falsely justifies)
It’s not about disturbing anyone.
It’s about Social structure.
Otherwise also,
Wife-wife or husband-husband
Cannot have baby,
Isn’t it?
VIKAS
That’s true!
But grandmom told,
It’s written in Krittivas Ramayana that
After the death of Maharaja Dilipa,
His two wives had baby,
By the grace of Lord Shiva!
AKASH (surprised by the knowledge)
yes,
King Bhagiratha.
Who bought Ganga river on earth.
VIKAS
And we’ve so much of population,
It’s good to not have more babies!
AKASH (smile)
That’s not the way to control birth!
VIKAS
But yes,
It would have been big fights,
If two boys stay together.
Anik and I fight so much now only,
Image what will happen when we’ll grow up…
10) INT. SMALL ROOM – LATE EVENING
Same two young college students (gay couple), come back home from college canteen after chatting with other friends. While changing their dresses and wearing comfortable home dresses, they (fair and dark complexion, Arnab and Akash) start arguing for paying extra attention to the other guy and girl respectively. Arnab, being little shy, changing in the room and Akash is changing in the drawing room.
Shortly the argument hits up and they start fighting with each other with full strength. Fighting stops only after one gets injured with a bleeding nose.
YOUNG AKASH
What is there to get angry on me?
Did I say anything wrong?
What kind of dress did Trina Wear?
What assets does today’s so called modern girls
want to show by wearing such tight dresses?
Will it look descent or gentle,
If now guys also start showing their asset
By wearing tight pants?
ARNAB
Did I say anything about the talk?
It wouldn't be a problem if it was only talk!
YOUNG AKASH
What do you mean?
ARNAB
Don’t you really understand?
When you’re so desperate,
Then you can hold the umbrella on her head
All day long!
YOUNG AKASH
Oh…
You’re over reacting!
ARNAB
Am I?
Why you’re so concerned
If something had fallen on her?
Either a leaf,
Or an umbrella,
Or an insect!
YOUNG AKASH
Why shall I be concerned?
I was just…
ARNAB
What just?
His boyfriend was there to help her?
Did you notice when such a big tree branch
Had fallen on me…
YOUNG AKASH
On you? When?
ARNAB
Did you have time
To care for me?
YOUNG AKASH
Don’t talk nonsense!
Did it fall on you, huh?
ARNAB
Didn’t fall, but you wouldn’t have
Notice it anyway!
YOUNG AKASH
You’re now fighting with me
For an imaginary ‘if’!
And you think I didn’t notice
You were hitting on Tulip’s brother!
ARNAB
My wish…
YOUNG AKASH
What does that mean?
ARNAB
As I said, my wish…
YOUNG AKASH
Don’t you find a better answer?
ARNAB
No, I don't!
YOUNG AKASH
Then why do you come to talk?
(Whispering)
just carbon copy of father!
ARNAB
What did you say?
YOUNG AKASH
Nothing!
ARNAB
Say it again…
YOUNG AKASH
Did I say any wrong?
ARNAB
Is it?
Then, take it…
Arnab kicks a punch on Akash’s nose. Akash holds his nose and turns on the other side and sees bleeding on his palm. He doesn’t day a word to Arnab and goes to the bathroom to clean the nose and blood.
Arnab realizes his mistake and goes to say sorry and help him out. He throws Arnab outside and closes the door from inside and opens the water tap.
Arnab continues knocking the door and requests him to open and show him his nose.
ARNAB
I’m sorry kaashu,
I didn’t realize.
Please…
Akash comes out of the bathroom, he uncovers his hand to show that nothing happened to his nose and hugs Arnab tightly.
11) INT. DRAWING ROOM - MORNING
VIKAS
Mom and you don’t fight at all!
Ok Papa, tell me,
Same gender people who are not able to marry
Because of the Supreme court,
What will they do?
AKASH
What can they do?
Think, one boy and one girl sometime
Cannot get married because of some reason.
What do they do?
VIKAS
Hmmm, that's true.
But will it not be painful for them
To stay apart?
AKASH
obviously.
But sometime it’s difficult to understand,
Which one is more painful?
Staying apart?
Or, staying with someone else?
VIKAS
What Papa?
AKASH
No, nothing!
VIKAS
ok Papa, this is a government rule,
isn’t it?
AKASH
Hmmm, why?
VIKAS
Will there be concession for SC/ST then?
AKASH (laugh)
SC/ST discount, huh…
Their conversation and pampering goes on while Vinita runs her mixer to make apple shake. Vinita enters into the drawing room with two glasses of apple shake and gives to both of them.
VINITA
Intellectualism!
Such a heart touching topic
To discuss with son!
AKASH
Vini, what is this!
I was just…
VINITA
Hypocrite!
Did you bring everything?
AKASH
yes… Brought one freshener too.
VINITA (with satire)
ok, lets see if you bring one pink color local made bottle, like last time!
Vinita leaves the drawing room and enters into kitchen to keep groceries and vegetables in place.
VINITA
Lemme see what you’ve got.
Akash and Vikas start drinking the shake and continue chatting in front of the TV.
Vinita takes out the vegetables and groceries one by one and starts keeping into refrigerator and modular cupboards.
VINITA
What had you done?
AKASH (from drawing room)
Why? What happened??
VINITA (satire)
What else, shopkeeper recognized you correctly!
Gave you rotten potatoes!
AKASH
Don’t talk rubbish!
Bought less as there weren’t good potatoes.
VINITA
why?
Other shopkeepers don't sell you potatoes, huh?
Akash doesn't say anything else; he keeps quite and finishes his drink. Vikas takes a sip from her glass and continues watching TV. Vinita starts segregating groceries from the bag. Everything, vegs and grocery packets, look wet and smelling badly. She takes out the paper bag looks completely wet from outside and finds four cracked eggs inside. She quickly takes out the eggs. Her both hands messed up with the egg while and a yolk falls onto the puja flower. By seeing her face anyone can make out how many eggs got cracked.
VINITA (with anger)
Akash, come here.
AKASH
What happened again?
Vinita doesn't wait for Akash to come to the kitchen. She comes in front of Akash with the paper bag and stands in between TV and Akash.
VINITA
What happened? What is this?
Akash looks at the paper bag and sees the cracked eggs. He keeps quite and looks at Vinita.
VINITA
Couldn’t you bring those eggs carefully today?
AKASH
Couple of eggs only!
Why are you reacting like this?
VINITA
Why don't you have shame?
Am I worried for cracked eggs?
Flowers and fruits all gone bad,
Shall I mix all these and fry for you?
AKASH
But first thing I told you while entering into the…
VINITA
Cut the crap!
Priest will come in any moment,
how shall I arrange everything…
During the whole time Vikas was sitting on the sofa, silently. He was little afraid and uncomfortable. His eyes were filled with tears when he comes to Vinita.
VIKAS
Mom, Papa told you that…
VINITA
How many times did I tell you
Not to interfere in adults conversation!
Vikas started crying and left the drawing room. He takes stairs towards his room. Vinita continues scolding her husband and dials a number from her mobile and talks to the purohit.
VINITA
Hello, priest…
12) INT. BED ROOM - AFTERNOON
VINITA
Listen to me baby.
VIKAS
Mom, please you listen. Do you remember, the day Papa bought chicken kebab and you had burnt everything while warming up. Papa didn’t say anything that day.
VINITA
Yes, I do remember.
VIKAS
But you didn’t notice Mom, Papa came back home directly after picking me up from school. That’s why he didn’t get time to have lunch.
VINITA
Papa didn’t have lunch! Why didn’t you tell me? This is bad, your Papa too didn’t say me anything!
VIKAS
I know Mom. Papa only asked me not to tell you because he didn’t want to hurt you.
Both of them keep quite for a while. Vikas looks at Vinita.
VINITA
Your Papa is good only,
I’m not bad either!
but…
VIKAS
You know Mom, I love you...
VINITA (wet eyes)
I know baby!
VIKAS
But you know what?
Tears roll down from his eyes, Vinita looks right into Vikas’s eyes to hear his next word.
VIKAS (crying)
I’ll become bad, one day!
Vikas bursts in cry. She gets up from her mom's lap and leaves the room immediately. Speechless and shocked Vinita, sitting on the bean bag, watches Vikas leaving. One tear drop comes out from her eye and starts rolling on her cheek. She opens her diary, cross the word ‘ALL’ and continues writing...

13) INT. BED ROOM – NIGHT
Akash enters into the bed room. Vinita was waiting for him. Akash takes his shirt off and goes towards the bed to lie down and rest. Vinita holds his hand and pulls him near to her.
Akash’s naked back side shoulder clearly reveals the pink triangle (inside heart shape) tattoo.
Vinita looks at his eyes.
VINITA

Wanted to be a wife!

who will be attracted to his wife,
will love her.
a straight man!
